From the first moment that we laid eyes on it, this jacket blew us away. Crafted in buttery soft full-grain lambskin calfskin, it's an absolutely perfect-fitting and undeniably bad-ass piece. Given the leather quality and the fact that it's union crafted in the United States, the price is unbelievable. This jacket really delivers.
This jacket was designed to be a shrunken-fit ladies' interpretation of their classic zip-front "Perfecto". It features a heavy-weight chrome asymmetrical zipper, zippered chest pockets, built-in leather belt, snap epaulets with chrome stars, zippered cuffs, and a soft nylon liner. It's absolutely incredible!
The Perfecto Jacket In 1954, the now cult classic "The Wild One" featured the hot young actor, Marlon Brando, perched on his motorcycle wearing his Schott Perfecto. The subsequent spike in popularity of the Perfecto surprisingly resulted in decreased sales. The jackets were actually banned by school systems around the country because they symbolized a burgeoning teen demographic, the "hood".
Just one year later, the Perfecto was catapulted to the height of its popularity when a love for speed ended the life of the quintessential "hood." It is said that James Dean could hardly ever be seen without his Perfecto - they seemed to be made for each other.
Measurements Note: All measurements are shown in inches. "Chest" is measured from armpit seam to armpit seam. "Sleeves" is measured from the shoulder seam. "Length" is measured from the base of the collar (where it attaches to the jacket) to the bottom. "Shoulder" is measured from shoulder seam to shoulder seam.
Fit This jacket fits very slim - especially compared to Schott's mainline motorcycle jackets. The model pictured above is wearing a Small. We estimate the numerical size equivalents to work as such:
XSmall: Size 0 to 2 Small: Size 4 Medium: Size 6 Large: Size 8 to 10
About Schott Founded in New York's Lower East Side by two brothers in 1913, Schott is a classic American heritage brand. Throughout their nearly 100 years, this family-run business has created such iconic jackets as the double-breasted US Navy melton peacoat, the WWII Shearling Bomber Jacket, and the original "Perfecto" zip-front motorcycle jacket - as seen on the likes of Marlon Brando and the Ramones. Now in their fourth-generation of ownership, Schott continues its mission of crafting quality and classic outerwear at very fair prices. Here at Epaulet, they're one of our very favorite brands and our go-to recommendation for great jackets.
