    
The Epaulet Wrap Dress
We're thrilled to introduce our very first in-house wrap dress - the "Pina." Crafted by hand in soft pure silk jersey, and complemented by a gorgeously vibrant print, this sophisticated piece will effortlessly stand out in the crowd.
The wrap is one of the most versatile and beautiful dress shapes. It flatters the body by lifting the bust and delineating an elegant hour-glass figure. Our mid-length cut skims the knee and gives the dress an easy length that can be worn day to night. The chic v-neck collar has built-in soft elastic to keep it flush against the chest. We kept the overall design clean, minimal, and perfectly fitted- thereby allowing the colors and print to do all the talking. Plus, it has inseam pockets!
Wear it for a special night out, to your sister's wedding, to the office, to the supermarket, with a camisole, with tights, with a sweater, with none of that stuff (because it's crazy hot outside), and wherever, however, and whenever else you choose. The Pina can rise to any occasion. You won't want to take her off.
Inspired by Dance
"Pina's" namesake comes from Pina Bausch, an influential German choreographer. A champion of the avant-garde Tanztheater movement, Pina's choreography was surreal and blurred the lines between experimental dance and tense, intricate drama. Her work is prominently featured in the opening scene of Pedro Almodovar's "Talk to Her".
Adele Berne, Epaulet co-owner and designer of the Pina Wrap Dress, is heavily engaged in the Tanztheater movement as a professional dancer. While creating the original sketches and choosing the fabrics, she felt that Pina Bausch would appreciate its duality of minimalist style and easy, soft construction contrasted with an incredible, eye-popping print. Pina once described her dance by saying " ''I want to feel something, as a person. I don't want to be bored.'' Taking a look at the dress that's named after her, we couldn't agree more.
Fabric Composition
100% pure silk jersey. Lightweight, stretchy, wrinkle-resistant, and supremely comfortable, this fabric is luxuriously smooth and moves with the body. It has excellent color retention, and will hold its vibrant print through repeated washing and wearing. As a moisture-wicking, naturally breathable fabric, it can be worn throughout the seasons.
Limited Edition Prints
Each print for the Pina dresses comes from a single bolt of fabric and will not be repeated. We've crafted between 12 and 18 units of each individual color. After they have been sold through, these print editions will be closed.
Made in New York City
Each Pina wrap dress is individually crafted by hand in Manhattan's famous garment center. Great care is taken to position the intricate print pattern and create a well-fitting and very durable piece.
