Similar to Mother of Pearl, but far more brilliant, its colors change when you view it at different angles. The base black patterns come from proteins which sit in between the shell's calcium layers. Its brilliant colors are due to refracted light within the shell's crystalline structure. The effect is absolutely brilliant.
