    
The Stephen waistcoat is our principal stand-alone tailored vest and the third piece in our three piece suit. The waistcoat features soft notch-lapel construction, two functional flap pockets at the bottom, ornamental left breast-pocket capable of holding a handkerchief or pocket square, cinch-back, six-button front with tortoise buttons, an acetate rear liner and stripped oxford front liner. The super 120s brown houndstooth waistcoat also features a dark khaki cotton twill back.
The elegant houndstooth pattern made up of intersecting black, maroon and navy hash-lines over a beautiful medium-brown ground. Especially lovely is the subtle way in which the navy houndsteeth stand out, creating a small check pattern running throughout the jacket and pants. It’s at once eye-catching and refined, like our other classic patterns; and a great opportunity to wear a very traditional check in a slim trouser. Woven in Italy of 100% wool, it's a comfortable medium weight that can be worn year-round.
Measurements & Sizing
Note: All measurements are shown in inches. "Chest" is measured from one armpit seam to the other. "Shoulder" is measured from one shoulder seam to the other (Please note: these measurements are significantly smaller than our usual shoulder measurements due to the absence of sleeves on this garment). "Length" is measured from the base of the rear collar to the bottom of the garment.
Sizing on the Stephen waistcoats are true to size and generally consistent with our in-house Epaulet sportcoats and shirts. The size chart below illustrates how they match up. This is an approximation, as tailored clothing can't be cut identically to shirting. Generally, most customers who wear an Epaulet medium will get a solid fit in a 38 jacket and waistcoat. However, if your Epaulet shirt fits you very slim, or you have broad shoulders for your build, then we recommend ordering the next size up. If you do this, the cinch-back makes it easy to dial in the fit in the waist.

Care
To keep your waistcoat looking its best, we recommend the following steps:
• Regular brushing keeps dust and grit from accumulating in the fabric.
• A waistcoat should not be worn every day. After wearing, empty the pockets, hang on a wooden hanger, and let air dry.
• The steam from a shower will help restore the natural moisture of fine woolens and remove wrinkles.
• If you get caught in the elements, and your garment becomes wet, allow it to dry naturally at room temperature.
• Do not dry-clean unless it is dirty, and always use a reputable dry-cleaner.
