Hand-crafted in Maine, Epaulet belts combine phenomenal materials with meticulous workmanship to yield a handsome and long-lasting item that gains character with wear and age.

Our "Single Prong" model measures 1.25" wide, which is an excellent all-around size for our chinos, trousers, and jeans. The solid brass buckle is silvertone with subtle antiquing. The keeper is handsewn with cream-toned waxed thread. This was designed to be an all-around basic item which can be worn day after day and year after year.

This particular belt is done in an absolutely bonkers western floral print embossed Horween chromexcel. In person, the stamping effect is beautiful. Trapped in and around the print are all the oils naturally embedded in the chestnut colored leather. This gives the shoe a handsome and delightfully peculiar variegation up close, while at a distance it appears to have a slightly ruddy burnish. As with all the leather goods that we carry, you can expect this durable item to gain a wonderful patina with age. Despite its thickness and heft, it's fairly soft and feels broken in before you even wear it for the first time. It will sit nicely on your trousers without jutting out too far or feeling uncomfortable.

Sizing
Epaulet belts have "Standard Belt Sizing," meaning that you need to order 1-2 inches larger than your typical pant size. So if you ordinarily wear a 32 or 33 pant, please order a 34 in the belts.

Chromexcel Leather
Chromexcel is produced by Horween Leather in Chicago, a family-run tannery that dates back to 1905. It's produced using a bark retannage from a proprietary recipe, and then genuine hot stuffed with a blend of natural oils and greases. The resulting "pull-up" leather yields a rich, deep finish with very subtle shade variations. It breaks in easily, shines up brilliantly, and is incredibly long-lasting.
