DA LUCA A small team of leather artisans constructs each Da Luca watch band entirely from scratch in San Diego, CA. Every Da Luca band we carry uses 100% genuine Horween Shell Cordovan and comes fashioned with stainless steel hardware. The scrupulous standards and meticulous finishing practices of the Da Luca leather artisans distinguish these pieces by their excellence and uniquely manual singularity. To make each Da Luca strap, a leather worker first hand selects the sections of the cordovan shell that will be used the bands, ensuring that there are no blemishes. He then cuts, punches, and saddle-stitches the strap entirely by hand, using four-ply UK waxed linen thread for the stitching. The whole piece is then hand finished and supplied with hardware. The process is labor intensive and time consuming, necessitating a minimum of two hours per strap; but the resultant product is unique, robust and beautiful.
GENUINE SHELL CORDOVAN Shell Cordovan is a rare and wonderful leather. It comes from the skin of a horse's rump, and is vegetable-tanned for no less than six months. The result is an exceptionally non-porous leather with a lustrous finish, unbelievable suppleness, and serious durability. It readily conforms to your foot, only needs the occasional polishing, and is naturally water-resistant.As you wear Shell Cordovan over the course of several years, it develops rich patina and unique character. Genuine shell is expensive, but consider it a good investment. With the proper care, you'll get many years of wear out of it.
SIZING Strap size measurements are made in millimeters (mm). To determine which watch strap size to select, measure the distance between the watch lugs. It is best to measure the watch case rather than an existing strap. A leather strap may have shrunken over time or may not be the correct size.
