With these soft 8 oz. canvas chinos, we wanted exemplify the durability of canvas workpants, but without all the heft and coarseness that usually comes along with such fabrics. These pants can take a beating, but won’t beat you up while you’re wearing them. The canvas is remarkably comfortable and lightweight, making these pants more suited for summertime antics than a loading dock; but rest assured, if you ever need a backup plan, they’ll hold up to those conditions as well.
This navy color is slightly lighter in tone from our usual navy twill chino, which makes it’s especially appropriate for the warmer months. Wear these rolled up on the beach with a pair of handsewn shoes, or dressed up with a camel colored sport coat and a pair of cordovan shoes. You’re jeans might thank you for the rest.
An incredibly versatile pant, you’ll be able to wear them just as comfortably in the fall as you can in the summer. The canvas is woven in the U.S.A.
About the Rivet Chino The Rivet Chino has a classic slim-straight fit that is by no means "skinny". It features a medium-low rise and small leg opening that works well with dress shoes, boots, and trainers alike. Details include: tortoise-shell button-fly, hickory striped cotton pocket-bags, hidden front coin pocket sized to accommodate cards and cash, and a strip of natural cotton herringbone twill running down the inside of each leg to give the pants an extra punch when rolled up.
As you can see from the interior photos, the construction is phenomenal. The main rear seam is taped and reinforced, with an extra inch and a half of fabric that can be let out if need be. A single-curtain cotton waistband helps to keep your shirt tucked in.
Exact measurements are at the bottom. Overall, the sizing is consistent with our Epaulet Slim "Walt" trouser, although the rise is a bit shorter and the legs are slightly slimmer. This is a casual chino, whereas the "Walt" is more of a dress trouser. Epaulet Rivet Chinos are proudly made in the U.S.A.
Measurements All measurements are shown in inches. Waist is measured with the rear waistband laid flat and doubled. Full rise is measured from the lowest point of the crotch to the top of the front waistband (with the trousers laid flat). Inseam is measured from the crotch seam to the leg opening. Thigh is measured from the lowest point of the crotch (laid flat) straight across the thigh. Knee is measured 13" down from the crotch seam and across. Leg opening is the width of the bottom hem.
You can buy these true to size. Shrinkage or exceptional stretching is not a concern for the waist and top block. You can expect the inseam to shrink approximately a half inch after washing, so please wash them before you get them hemmed to ensure the correct length.

Pictured Fit Model (6'1",180lb) wears size 33. This garment fits true to size.
