  
Ah, Summer – the time for beautiful, lightweight and light-colored trousers. These particular Walt trousers are made from 100% Irish linen, which has a more substantial heft than our usual Italian linen Walts; however, this does not make them any less breathable or luxurious. The natural color is a soft oatmeal tone that's speckled with tiny bits of brown variegation, like so many granules of brown sugar. In a word, exceptional.
Made from the fibers of the Flax plant, linen is one of the oldest textiles in the world. It's 2 to 3 times as strong as cotton, and is prized as a luxury fabric for warm weather climates. Its stiffer structure causes it to naturally billow away from the skin - allowing for excellent air flow throughout the garment. Given its strong long-staple fibers, a quality linen garment can easily last for years of repeated wear.
Epaulet trousers are a true labor of love. As with every item in our in-house collection, they have excellent materials, meticulous craftsmanship, fair pricing, and a well-executed fit. Each pair is hand-assembled with old school construction at a venerable trouser house in New York City. It's hard to find a good pant and it's difficult to make one - but our production house is more than up to the task. We're confident that these will be some of the best trousers you will ever own.
The "Walt" is a slim trouser with a lot of consideration given to the fit. The legs are slim but not too tight. The medium rise is comfortable to wear and keeps your shirt tucked in if you want it tucked. They're beautifully constructed with an inner waist curtain, taped & finished seams, and a split back waistband. These pants are meant to be worn for years, and the split waistband allows your tailor to perfectly take in or let out the waist up to 1.5". The inseam is finished at a plain-bottom 34", but this can be let out another inch if you need it.
Measurements
All measurements are shown in inches. Waist is measured with the waistband laid flat and doubled. Thigh is measured from the lowest point of the crotch (laid flat) straight across the thigh. Leg opening is the width of the bottom hem. Rise is measured from the lowest point of the crotch (laid flat) to the top of the waistband.
Note: Linen stretches with wear, so these trousers are intentionally cut a bit slimmer than our normal Walt fit. They'll feel tighter at first, but will stretch to our typical Walt measurements with several days of wear.
